This classic chicken and rice casserole is a hearty family favorite

CHICKEN AND RICE CASSEROLE INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups cooked and diced chicken
  • One package dry onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups long grain rice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parsley for garnish

HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN AND RICE CASSEROLE

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. I make this with a rotisserie chicken, but you could also use homemade chicken breasts, chopped or shredded.
  3. In a large bowl mix all ingredients together except the parsley which is optional for garnish.
  4. Pour into a 9×13 casserole dish that has been sprayed with nonstick spray.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl mix all ingredients together except the parsley which is optional for garnish.
  3. Pour into a 9x13 casserole dish that has been sprayed with nonstick spray. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove the foil cover and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
